Jayme is a lifelong Equine enthusiast and student. Her passion for horses began before she could even walk, on a spacious farm in Middle Tennessee. Her summers were spent romping with horses in the rolling pastures and swimming in the creeks with her Equine friends. She began showing locally at the age of 10 and had a natural ability and feel as a rider and trainer at a very young age. She became a successful Junior Rider in Middle Tennessee showing Hunters and Arabian Horses in a variety of disciplines and her education continued to grow through the teenage years into college where she competed on her school's HuntSeat and Western Equestrian Teams.
After college she moved to the West Coast to further her education and Career with horses and soon after opened the doors to her own Training Business.
Jayme has since studied with many well known Natural Horsemanship and Liberty trainers and has worked with many problem horses and has started many others from the ground up. Her background in Hunters, Western Pleasure, Equitation and Natural Horsemanship provide a very unique , thorough and effective approach for her clients.
As an Instructor, her goal is not just to help you become a better rider, but to help you become a better horseman. Through a variety of exercises and challenges, each lesson helps you to improve your technique, skill, confidence, understanding, and passion. Enjoyment and progress are the key objectives, whatever your starting point and end goals may be.
As a Trainer, Jayme has extensive training in English and Western Riding, Groundwork, Colt Starting, Natural Horsemanship and Horse Management.
“I love working with horses - Horses teach me something new everyday and I strive daily to improve my horsemanship and to help others improve theirs. I enjoy teaching both riding and groundwork and helping others develop their passion for horses and the sport of riding. A passion of mine is equine communication - what are they telling us and how we can provide the best partnership with them, having the horse be willing and enjoying his work with humans.” Jayme Huffines - Owner of Epona
